An additional two individuals are now in custody in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, as stated by police.
A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.
The arrests follow a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.
A toddler aged three was among the injured in the event. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.
Officers detained a man in his thirties for suspected robbery and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.
Authorities were alerted at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several individuals hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be pepper spray.
The assault - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - resulted in delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park for a short time.
